The Harding Bison ends their losing streak by ending the Lions winning streak in four sets.
Turning PointUp by two points late in the third set, the Lions committed four consecutive attack errors to drop the set 25-23. The Lions never recovered losing comfortably in the fourth set 25-16 ending the match.
HOW IT HAPPENEDSet 1 The first set started slow for both teams until Harding found their rhythm and started to create some cushion on the scoreboard. The Bison had a 9-0 run that shifted the momentum and led the Lions 22-10 at one point in the set. Zoe Hardin rose up for a vicious spike late in the set that ultimately led to a 25-14 win for Harding. Both Hardin and Sara Smith finished the first set with four kills.
Set 2Harding came on the floor and continued the first set dominance for most of the match. However, they did not do enough to put the Lions away in the second set. Although down 14-8
Sydney Reyes found the floor twice after a timeout. With the score at 19-18,
Summer Alford took control recording the last five kills for the Lions propelling them over Harding in the second set 25-21.
Set 3In the closest set of the match, the Lions had a chance to take the advantage in the match and have Harding against the ropes but could not get the job done. The Lions had big kills throughout the set and had a lead at 23-21. But costly mistakes robbed the Lions from this set as they made four consecutive attack errors to lose 25-23. Zoe Hardin, Emily Clayton, and Taylor Mounts all had three kills each in this set.
Set 4The fourth set was a struggle for the Lions as they were unable to establish themselves on either offense or defense. Molly Howard and Emily Clayton really flexed their muscles in this set recording five kills each. Harding won this set 25-16 and had a .237 hitting percentage.
