COMMERCE, Texas – The A&M-Commerce soccer team fell 2-0 to Dallas Baptist at Lion Soccer Field on Tuesday night in non-conference play. The Lions now stand at 5-3-2 on the season, while the Patriots improved to 7-3-1.
Quotable- "We're playing good enough to compete, but we're just not clicking right now. We played well in the first half and had some early chances. They scored a nice first goal that came from lack of effort on our part. Dallas Baptist is a good team, and they knock it around pretty well, so it was a tough game to lose." – Lion head coach
Neil Piper Turning Point- DBU's Rebbeca Kernen found the net to start the scoring in the 34th minute, and she ended up being credited with the game-winner. Maddie Owen was credited with the assist.
Summary- 19 minutes into the second half, Cecily Martinez scored on a free kick, adding salt to the Lions' wounds.
- A&M-Commerce only attempted three shots after the second goal, and Patriot keeper Jenna Ackerly made sure the Lions were held scoreless.
Inside the Box Score- All three Lion losses have come against teams from the NCAA South Central Region.
