The 2-2 Lions travel to Arkansas to take on the 0-4 Ouachita Baptist Tigers

Commerce, Texas – The Lions have the pleasure of being the first opponent to play in the Bill Vining Arena in the 2015-16 season.
 
A&M-Commerce (2-2) are coming off of their best shooting performance of the season after defeating Letourneau 101-70 Saturday, November 21. The Lions average 75 points per game on the season but shoots roughly 38 percent from the floor and 21.7 percent from beyond the arc. Fortunately, the Lions have been doing good getting to the free throw line and converting them into points as they shoot 73 percent from the stripe. The Lions shot a season high of approximately 85 percent from the line against Letourneau. Amari Jones leads the team with 12.5 points per game, 33 total rebounds averaging 8.3 boards per game, and seven blocks. Jones is also tied with Princess Davis with a team high of nine steals.
 
The Tigers are 0-4 this season and have two early conference losses against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. Ouachita Baptist shoots 36 percent from the field and averages 65.8 points per game. The Tigers have struggled coming out of the gate this season being outscored by their opponents 80-64 in the first quarter and 84-66 in the third quarter. Breanna Harris leads the Tigers with 13.3 points per game and Katie Kapler follows her with 12.5 points per game. Kapler also is the teams leading rebounder with 33 rebounds recording 25 of them on the defensive end. The Tigers are coached by Gary Crowder, who is in his 21st season at the helm of the Lady Tigers program. Coach Crowder holds the all-time record for most wins in the history of the program with 309.  
 
Though the Tigers hold a 9-2 advantage over the Lions, A&M-Commerce are on a current two game winning streak against them. Both games won by the Lions have been at The Field House however, the Lions are looking to get their first win in Bill Vining Arena Tuesday, November 24. The bulk of the games played between the two programs have been at neutral locations with the Tigers obtaining a 5-0 record in that scenario. The game is slated to start at 6 pm in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
