FRISCO – The East Texas A&M University women's basketball team had three members of its 2025-26 roster named to the Southland Conference All-Academic team on Friday morning. 
 
The Lion honorees are Alva Hedrich (Muecke, Germany), Cora Horvath (Oberwart, Austria), and Nina Horvath (Oberwart, Austria). 
 
To be eligible for the Southland All-Academic team, each nominee must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); completed at least ONE full semester at the nominating institution during the season in which the nomination occurs; and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions in the position listed on this form during the most recently completed season.
 
Hedrich was a President's List Scholar for the Lions, while being named to the SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll. She started last six games of the season, including first round of the SLC Tournament, which was the first postseason appearance for the Lions in two years. Hedrich received her bachelor's degree in mathematics at the completion of the Spring 2026 semester. 

Cora Horvath was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team this spring. She is a sport and recreation management major and was a starter in every game last season, helping the Lions advance to the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time in two years. Horvath is also a President's List Scholar and SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. 

Nina Horvath is a kinesiology & sports studies major, having also been a President's List Scholar and SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient throughout her Lion career. She started all but three conference games for the Lions in 2025-26.
