Commerce, Texas – The Lions end their four-game road trip Wednesday, December 16 against the East Central Tigers in Ada, Oklahoma.

The 4-5 Lions head to Ada, Oklahoma after going 1-1 this past weekend against St. Edwards and Texas State. The win against St. Edwards was the Lions first road win of the season. With a 1-4 record on the road this season, the matchup with East Central will end a four-game road trip for the Lions. A&M-Commerce shoots 38.7 percent from the field, 30 percent from beyond the arc, and 71.8 percent from the free throw line that ranks them third in the LSC. In total, the Lions average 68.9 points per contests and sits fourth in the conference in that department. The Lions average 11.89 assists per game being led by
Shomari Harris who has 30 dimes on the season.
Princess Davis follows her with 27 total assists. Harris also leads the Lions in scoring with 9.9 points per game but is closely followed by
Amari Jones with 9.8 points per game, and
Khala Riley with 9.3 points per game.

The East Central Tigers come into the matchup with the Lions with a 1-5 record and are currently on a three-game winning streak. The Tigers are 0-2 this season when matched up against the LSC this season. East Central fell in their season opener to Cameron 63-49, and later loss to Texas Woman's at home 53-46. The Tigers have had four games in conference play already and have a 1-3 record in the Great American Conference. Their lone conference win comes against Henderson State as they squeezed by the Reddies 85-80. The Tigers conference losses come against Arkansas Monticello, Southern Arkansas, and Ouchita Baptist. The latter two are similar losses for the Lions this season. East Central averages 59.7 points per game and shoots roughly 38 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 63 percent from the free throw line. The Tigers also average 34.8 rebounds per game, 10.8 assists per game, 6.5 steals per game, and 2.2 blocks per game. Alexa Adair is the team leader for the Tigers averaging 17.5 points per game shooting 40.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72 percent at the charity stripe. Adair has three 20-point performances this season including a double-double against Arkansas Monticello where she dropped 28 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Whitney Stotler also averages double figures in scoring chipping in 11.8 points per game shooting over 40 percent from the floor as well as leading the team with 12 steals. Matt Cole is in his second year at the helm of the Tigers program and has a 16-17 overall record at East Central.

A&M-Commerce is 8-13 against East Central and are on a five-game losing streak as well as a two-game losing streak when playing at East Central. Prior to the current five-game losing streak, the Lions had their own six-game winning streak rolling against the Tigers until it was snapped in the 2009-2010 season losing 77-72. Overall, the Lions are 3-6 against the Tigers on the road. The game is scheduled to start Wednesday, December 19 at 7 pm.
