Arkadelphia, Ark. – The A&M-Commerce men's basketball team ended the 2015 calendar year with a 94-80 win on the road over Henderson State in nonconference action extending its winning streak to six games entering the holiday break.
Turning Point- Leading 22-20 with 9:17 left in the first half, the Lions strung together a 17-4 run to take a 39-24 lead six minutes later to control of the contest.
Highlights-
Jeremy Jones paced the Lions with 22 points after going 7-of-10 from the field and a scorching 4-of-5 from behind the three-point arc. Jone also handed out five assists.

Anthony Adams followed with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor.

JR Owens chipped in 15 points after connecting on four of his six three point attempts.

Everrett Pleasant and
Bryant Crowder each added 11 points, while Pleasant earned a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Summary1st Half- The Lions turned a 9-6 deficit into a 14-9 lead following an 8-0 run capped off by a pair of Jones free throws with 13:38 left in the half.
- Henderson State fought back and took an 18-17 lead three minutes later, but the Lions' offense erupted and the Lions defense buckled down on the Reddies on the final 10 minutes as the Lions took an 11-point lead, 46-35, into the locker rooms.
- The Lions rode the hot shooting of Jones, who scored 11 points down the stretch for the Lions who led by as many as 18 points, 46-28, during the halftime closing run.
2nd Half- Henderson came out of the break and cut the Lions lead down to five points, 48-43, three minutes into the action, but A&M-Commerce answered by take the lead out 20 points midway through the half. The 73-53 lead was the largest of the half for the Lions.
- Henderson closed the gap and brought the lead down to nine points twice over the final 10 minutes, but A&M-Commerce closed out the game with the 14-point win, 94-80.
Inside the box score- Pleasant earned his second straight double-double with his 11 points and 10 rebounds Saturday. Pleasant had 15 points and 11 rebounds against Southwestern on Wednesday.
- Jones' recorded his first 20-point game after scoring 22 points Saturday.
- Adam's tallied his second 20-point game of the season. He scored 27 points against Harding on December 10.
- With the win, the Lions close enter the holiday break riding a six-game winning streak at 9-2 on the season.
What's Next?- The Lions will take the next 12 days off for the holidays before resuming play on January 2, 2016 at 6 p.m. against Central Christian College of the Bible.
