Mireles wins LSC Libero of the Year to lead three Lions with awards at annual banquet

SAN ANGELO - Texas A&M University-Commerce's Ashley Mireles was named the Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year, leading three Lions who won awards at the annual LSC banquet on Wednesday night.

In addition to Mireles' Libero of the Year honor, she was named first team all-Lone Star Conference. Taryn Driver earned second team all-LSC and Jaslyn Wacker was named all-LSC honorable mention and LSC All-Academic.

Mireles - a senior from Georgetown - led the conference in overall digs with 610, for an average of 5.00 per set. Mireles won LSC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times during the season and one of only two players in the league with over 500 digs this season. She ranks second all-time at A&M-Commerce in career digs in three seasons played.

Driver - a senior from Montgomery - ranks 14th in the conference in kills per set and leads the Lions with 333 kills this season. This is her second consecutive season earning second team all-LSC honors.

Jaslyn Wacker - a sophomore from Austin - carries a 4.0 grade point average in Accounting to earn her All-Academic Award. She earned honorable mention all-LSC after ranking seventh in the league in both service aces (0.33 per set) and blocks (0.98 per set).

The Lions are the fifth seed in this year's Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship and get their postseason run started at 5 p.m. Thursday against fourth-seeded Eastern New Mexico.
