This is the second time the Lions have hosted the opening two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. In 2014, the Lions defeated Angelo State at home in the second round, 1-0.

STELLAR SENIORS
Four Lion seniors have set school history by qualifying for the NCAA Tournament this year, becoming the first team sport athletes to make four NCAA Tournaments. Vicky Back, Savannah Grasser, Ashley Phillips, and Anitra Wright have been on the roster of all four seasons of this four-year run. They are 1-2-1 in the NCAA Tournament.

LIONS PILE UP CONFERENCE HONORS
A&M-Commerce was the top team in terms of awards in the Lone Star Conference, led by a pair of seniors.

Vicky Back was named the LSC Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, First Team all-LSC and LSC All-Academic. In addition to leading a back line that allowed the second-lowest goals against average in the LSC, Back ranked fourth in the league in points with six goals and five assists for 17 points.

Savannah Grasser was named LSC Forward of the Year, First Team all-LSC and LSC All-Academic. The senior from Mabank was the leading scorer in the conference this season with 14 goals and two assists for 30 points in the regular season.

Back and Grasser are the first two Lions to earn First Team all-LSC honors in all four seasons.

Earning second team all-LSC honors were LSC Newcomer of the Year Sophie Haywood at forward, defenders Delaney Bunselmeyer and Megan Paul, midfielder Michelle Kotlik, and goalkeeper Caitlin Duty, who was also LSC All-Academic.

LEADING LADY
Grasser leads the South Central Region in total goals and total points entering the NCAAs, with 14 goals and 32 points. Amongst active career leaders in NCAA Division II, Grasser ranks seventh in points (111) and ninth in goals (45).

LIONS AGAINST THEIR POTENTIAL OPPOSITION IN 2016

Michelle Kotlik scored 35 seconds into overtime to give the Lions the win.

The Lions are 2-0-1 against Midwestern State this season after tying the Lone Star Conference Championship match 1-1 on Sunday and dropping the penalty kick shootout. On October 2 in Wichita Falls, Delaney Bunselmeyer scored off of a rebound in the 11th minute to give the Lions a 1-0 win. On October 14 in Commerce, Kasey Sorbers poked in a shot off of a deflection in the 18th minute for a 1-0 win. On November 6, Anitra Wright scored in the fourth minute for A&M-Commerce before MSU tied it up in the 21st minute on a goal by Destinee Williamson.
