A&M-Commerce Returns to The Field House to Face Eastern New Mexico

Commerce, Texas – The Lions will matchup against the Greyhounds for the second time this season on Saturday, February 20 at 4 pm.
 
The Lions dropped their second consecutive game after a 63-58 loss at West Texas A&M, but are 4-2 since beginning the month of February. A&M-Commerce is 7-7 in conference play, and hold an 8-3 record overall at home this season. Home court advantage has served the Lions well this season and has the privilege of concluding the rest of the regular season at The Field House. The Lions have the third best scoring offense in the conference with 70.4 points per game and shoots 71.2 percent from the free throw line. Defensively, the Lions continue to show their dominance as they rank second in defensive rebounds with 28.9 boards per game, and fourth with 8.54 steals per game. In Lone Star Conference action this season, Artaejah Gay, Princess Davis, and Shomari Harris each average ten points per game while Gabby Scott adds another nine points per contest. The Lions are well balanced, and everyone has and plays their role effectively. Harris leads the team with 93 total assists, Davis leads with 41 steals this season, and Amari Jones leads with 31 total blocks and 7.8 rebounds per game.
 
Eastern New Mexico comes off of a 76-60 loss to Tarleton State, snapping the Greyhounds two-game winning streak. The Greyhounds had a season high of 76 points scored in their recent win over Midwestern State and defeated Cameron 72-69 in Aggie Gym. Eastern New Mexico averages 61 points per game and shoots below 40 percent both from the field and the three-point line in conference play. In all games played this season, the Greyhounds defense has been top notch as they rank second in the conference with 4.38 blocks per game, third with 8.75 assists per game, and fourth in the conference in field goal percentage defense at only 38 percent. Eastern New Mexico is led by Sarah Stinnett who averages 13.6 points per game, 39 total assists, and 33 total steals in Lone Star Conference competition. Kassandra Harris is right behind her with 12.6 points per game and 21 steals this season.
   
The Lions are 26-33 in head-to-head matchups with the Greyhounds after a 73-65 earlier this season.  Conversely, the Lions are 14-10 when playing against Eastern New Mexico inside of The Field House. A&M-Commerce is on a three-game winning streak at home against Eastern New Mexico and are 6-1 in their last seven matchups in Commerce, Texas.
