The Lions are coming off of a pair of losses to top-25 ranked opponents. A&M-Commerce was swept by Angelo State and lost in four sets to Tarleton State. Head coach Craig Case thought his team played well in spurts, but knows they will need to take their game to the next level if they want to accomplish their goals in the postseason against top level teams.

"There is no doubt that going to both Angelo and Tarleton is one of the toughest road trips in our league," Case said. "Both ASU and TSU are exceptional opponents and they have great home court crowds and environments. It really felt like playoff volleyball, which was great. In order for us to reach the next level, we need to be able to win matches in those situations. I thought we played some good volleyball, but not consistently enough to win on the road."

The Lions will look to bounce back quickly with a home match against Texas Woman's on Tuesday. A&M-Commerce lost in straight sets to TWU on Sept. 19 on the road. Case is happy his team can finally play a stretch at home, with so many road matches in the first half of the year.

"We're excited to get back onto our home court," he said. "It's been a season that has felt like we've been on the road every match. To get home and play a great team like TWU is going to be fun. They're a good team, play a really good style of volleyball and they're hungry. We're really going to have to be on our 'A Game' to get the win."

The TWU match is the first of three consecutive home matches for the Lions. A&M-Commerce closes its regular season with five of their final seven matches at home. Case knows it will be important for his team to protect their home floor as they look to hold onto its second place ranking in the conference.

"There is no secret that at this time of the year, it is crucial to defend your home court," he said. "That's exactly what we need to do. We have had great crowds and they've been the difference in our home matches this year. They're great fans and deserve the very best we can give them and that's what we're going to do."
