LEXINGTON, Ky. – The East Texas A&M University volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the ninth straight year.
During the 2025-26 academic year, the Lions posted an overall team grade point average of 3.49 and advanced to the postseason for the 14
th season in a row.
This is the ninth consecutive, 10
th time in 11 years, and 12
th time overall in program history that the Lions have received this honor. East Texas A&M is one of eight schools from the Southland to receive the honor for indoor volleyball in 2025-26.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. Around the country, a total of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams were honored.
