IRVING – The No. 21 Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Dallas Baptist Patriot Classic, as Wilfredo Sanchez claimed runner-up honors.
 
The Lions shot a team score of 905 (308-291-306, +41) in the 54-hole event.
 
Sanchez claimed his second top five finish of the season at 218 (73-73-72, +2). The senior carded four birdies in the final round.
 
Blake Hartford placed 16th with a 54-hole total of 225 (75-70-80, +9), with three birdies in his round. Lucas McCubbin shot even par in the final round and placed 25th at 228 (82-74-72, +12), notching three birdies on the day.
 
Zach Burch had three birdies Tuesday and placed 45th at 234, while Tyler McDonough placed 70th at 248. Texas Wesleyan won the team tournament title.
 
The Lions close the regular season next Monday and Tuesday at the Hardscrabble Classic hosted by Arkansas-Fort Smith.
