DICKSON, Tenn. – A tied for sixth performance through the first two rounds of the Austin Peay Intercollegiate by East Texas A&M University men's golfer
Matt Walters has the Lions in fifth following Monday's rounds at the Greystone Golf Club.
The Lions had a 24-stroke improvement in the second round, rising up three spots on the team leaderboard during the afternoon round. East Texas A&M's team score of 580 is four strokes back of Tennessee Tech, while being two strokes ahead of Murray State. UT Martin has a seven-stroke lead over Western Kentucky.
Walters (Ballito, South Africa) posted a score of 141 (72-69), sitting in a four-way tie for sixth. Grant Phillips from UT Martin is in the lead by two strokes over Tennessee Tech's Haden Maxwell.
Behind Walters,
Davis Seybert (Trinity – Midland) is tied for 18
th with a score of 144 (74-70),
Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) rose 13 spots in the standings with a score of 145 (76-69) and is tied for 21
st place.
Janis Erll (Lich, Germany) is tied for 40
th with a score of 151 (80-71) and
Nicke Kaajavirta (Kajaani, Finland) tied for 48
th with a score of 152 (82-70).
