PALM DESERT, Calif. – Behind a 51-spot climb on the leaderboard by Matt Walters, the East Texas A&M University men's golf team is tied for ninth following Tuesday's action at the Classic Club, which was the second round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
 
Walters (Ballito, South Africa) is tied for seventh after shooting a 66 on Tuesday. His total score of 139 puts him in a seven-way tie for seventh. Colorado's Jackson Rivera has a one-stroke lead over Colorado's Jackson Rivera, having totaled a score of 136 after two rounds.
 
The Lions hold a team score of 576 after the second round, being four strokes back of Omaha, and tied with Drake. No. 46 ranked Colorado has increased its lead atop the team leaderboard to 15 strokes over Sac State.
 
Individually for the Lions behind Walters, Davis Seybert (Trinity Midland) was tied for 31 with a score of 143 (68-75). Nicke Kaajavirta (Kajaani, Finland) posted a score of 147 (74-73), being tied for 65^th.
 
Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) is tied for 76^th with a score of 149 (73-76) and Janis Erll (Lich, Germany) is tied for 85^th with a score of 150 (72-78).
 
The third and final round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate is set for a shotgun start at 7:45 am Pacific on Wednesday. Live scoring can be found HERE.
