CHOUDRANT, La. – The East Texas A&M University men's golf team finished tied for seventh at the Argent Financial Classic with a three-round total of 872 at Squire Creek CC.
 
Brady Mann (Bridgeport) led ET with a tie for 12^th individually at 214. Daniel Ferguson added a tie for 23^rd at 216 after a final-round 71.
 
The Lions tied for seventh with a 54-hole total of 872, posting rounds of 288, 299 and 285. ET matched Jacksonville State and ULM in the team standings, while Troy took the team title.
 
"I'm proud of the way our guys competed this week. Finishing tied for seventh in this field is another step forward for a young team that is continuing to learn what it takes to compete at this level," said coach Jason Eslinger.

"We showed some real growth today. We had guys step up and play some good golf when we needed it, and Brady had an outstanding week finishing at 2-under and tied for 12th. We also had Daniel finish even par and saw some encouraging things throughout our lineup."

"We're certainly not satisfied with seventh place—that's not where we ultimately want this program to be. But I like the direction we're headed. Every time we tee it up, we're learning more about ourselves and identifying exactly where we need to improve. We'll get back to Commerce, go to work, and keep pushing this program forward. I'm proud of these guys and excited about what we're building at East Texas A&M."
 
Jace Chaney (Ardmore, Okla.) closed with a 70 and finished tied for 55^th at 226. Axel Larsen (Sarpsborg, Norway) tied for 43^rd with a score of 222, while Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) tied with Chaney for 55^th with a score of 226.
