"It's hard to believe our first fall season has already come to an end. When I took over this program in August, I knew there would be challenges, learning experiences, and plenty of work ahead of us. What I didn't know was just how rewarding these first few months would be. I'm incredibly thankful for these first few months of being the head men's golf coach at East Texas A&M and for the young men who have bought into what we're trying to accomplish," said coach
Jason Eslinger. "We've experienced the excitement of winning, the disappointment of falling short, and everything in between. That's what makes college golf so special. Hawaii was another opportunity for us to learn and grow against great competition. Having so many teams ranked inside the top 100 and even the top 150 was a very good test for our program."
"We finished 10th right in the middle of the pack and Daniel had another strong showing at T-12. Something we can be excited about. As we close out the fall semester, I'm proud of what this team has accomplished, but I also know we have a lot of work left to do. I'm looking forward to getting to work this winter so we can be prepared and ready to compete come Spring. The goal is to raise the standard at East Texas and I think we are off to a great start."
This week was the final tournament of the fall for the Lions, who had one team win and one individual medal during the fall season. The spring season begins with the Bentwater Intercollegiate on February 8-9.
