MIDLAND – The East Texas A&M University men's golf team finished 10^th at the Tall City Collegiate, totaling 871 over three rounds at Midland CC this week.

Daniel Ferguson (Duncanville) led ET in a tie for 20^th at 215, while Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) tied for 23^rd at 216. The Lions posted rounds of 286, 286 and 299 in the stroke-play event.

"I am really pleased with the way our guys competed through the first two rounds. We were in fifth place at 4-under par after the first two rounds. We played some solid golf and showed what this young team is capable of when we put things together," said coach Jason Eslinger.

"We would have liked to finish the tournament stronger, but that's part of the learning process with a young group. I am also happy for Daniel and his top-20 finish. He put together a solid tournament. Every tournament gives us an opportunity to gain experience, build confidence, and continue growing as a team. I'm proud of the progress we're making, and we're moving in the right direction. We'll continue to work hard, learn from each experience, and keep getting better as the season goes on."

Brady Mann (Bridgeport) tied for 31^st at 218, and Jace Chaney (Ardmore, Okla.) as well as Axel Larsen (Sarpsborg, Norway) tied for 57^th at 226. In the team standings, New Mexico State surged to take the title with a three-round score of 843, two strokes ahead of Northern Colorado.

The individual medalist was Odessa's Cole Self with a score of 206 through three rounds.
