The Lions are coming off of a pair of home losses last week. Despite the results, Piper felt that his team played well in both games against two of the top teams in the LSC.

"They were good games," he said. "We were in both of them and could have won both of them. We come from a standpoint where we expect to win those games. The fact that we didn't is very disappointing. We are playing well, but finding different ways to lose. I don't know if that is good or bad."

Despite the losses, Piper came out of those matches viewing the positives he saw from his young team.

"The thing is Dallas Baptist and TWU have completely different styles of play," he said. "And we didn't change for either one of them. And I felt we had really good chances to win both. I feel good about our lineup and the way we are playing. We just need to find a way to get on a win streak."

The Lions now head on the road to face two more tough opponents. Angelo State sits in fourth place in the LSC standings while St. Edward's is in second place. Piper knows it will be another tough slate for his team.

"This is another road trip I'm not looking forward to," he said. "These are two very good teams. We haven't had much success in Austin in the last few years. We tied there last year but have not won there in a while. And then Angelo is always a battle. They are always a good team and are a pain to play. It should be fun weather against them with 40s and rain with strong wind. We will give it a go and see how we do."
