COMMERCE– The Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team will head on the road Saturday to face East Central in their final match of the non-conference season.

The Lions are coming off of split last weekend at home. They defeated Ouachita Baptist 1-0 in their home opener before falling in a tough 2-1 overtime match against Emporia State.
 
The Lions will now play their final match before entering conference play. Head coach Neil Piper knows this match will be important as it is the team's final tuneup before the conference season.
 
"This is the last game before conference starts," he said. "We need to have a good performance on Saturday."
 
Still early in the season, Piper is hoping to learn from the team's first loss, and get the momentum back as they head into the conference season.
 
"We are coming off of a tough loss," he said. "I hope we play hard and get back on the winning path."
 
The Lions will return home to face Lubbock Christian in their first match of Lone Star Conference play on Thursday. They will then face UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Sept. 28.
