EDEN, Utah – Three members of the Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf team are in the top 30 after the first day of the Kelsey Chugg Invitational, hosted by Weber State, at the Wolf Creek Country Club, to begin the fall season.
The Lions recorded a team score of 619 (306-313) through two rounds on Monday, which puts them in seventh place going into the final round. Creighton has a nine-stroke lead with a score of 592 (296-296) over Montana State. Lauren Greeny and Scarlet Weidig-Velazquez from Montana State are tied for the 36-hole with matching scores of 145.
Benz Far-Arun (Bangkok, Thailand) leads the way for the Lions and is tied for 18
th place after a score of 152 through two rounds, shooting a 76 in both rounds.
Michelle Becker (San Antonio – Reagan) is a stroke behind and tied for 21
st place with a two-round score of 153 (74-79).
Making her Lion debut,
Henriette Stranda (Kraakstad, Norway) carded a two-round score of 155 (76-79) and is tied for 29
th place.
Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany), also making her collegiate debut, is tied for 42
nd place with a score of 159 (80-79).
Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) is in a tie for 62
nd place shooting a 169 (86-83) on Monday.
