SUGAR LAND – The East Texas A&M University women's golf team closed out the Riverbend Intercollegiate with a 10^th place finish at the Riverbend Country Club.
 
The Lions had a team score of 917, four strokes back of Blinn college and a stroke ahead of Odessa College. Louisville stretched out its lead to 13 strokes over the hosts, HCU, to win the team title.
 
On the player leaderboard, Tarleton's Louise Depadt won the individual medal by three strokes over Odessa College's Napajira Luesattha by a score of 211 in the three-round tournament.
 
Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany) was the top finisher for the Lions with a score of 225 (74-72-79) for 27^th, followed by Marie Baertz (Luxembourg), who tied for 28^th with a score of 226 (76-78-72). Linnea Olsson (Beddingestrand, Sweden) tied for 48^th with a score of 232 (80-75-77).
 
To round out the Lions, Becky Baberg (Asendorf, Germany) tied for 55^th place with a score of 235 (73-78-84) and Tais Moreno (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) tied for 84^th with a score of 247 (84-80-83).
 
"We definitely progressed this week!" said director of golf Brian Dolehide. "I am happy for how Marie N played this tournament and Marie B had a great final round in some tough wind. The birdies are there, we just need to dial back the big numbers, and we'll see some pretty solid results soon!"

The Lions are back in action on March 30-31 at the ULM Invitational in Monroe, Louisiana, which is the final tournament prior to the conference championships.
