CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – Texas A&M University-Commerce men's track and field student-athlete Delan Edwin was named the Saint Lucia Track and Field Sportsman of the Year at the Saint Lucia National Sports Awards by the Saint Lucia Athletics Association.  
 
Edwin, a Castries native, was among the four nominees for the Saint Lucia Sportsman of the Year, which factored in accomplishments from 2020 to 2023. During that time period, Edwin won one NCAA Division II national championship, broke two national records, was named an All-American five times, and represented Saint Lucia at the Commonwealth Games last summer.
 
This season, he is ranked top eight in the Southland Conference for both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash during the indoor season. Him and the Lions compete in the Southland Conference Indoor National Championships next Sunday-Monday in Birmingham, Alabama.
