COMMERCE – The Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team concludes its inaugural NCAA Division I season this week in San Antonio at the Southland Conference Championships.

THE COURSE
The SLC Championships are at the Hill Country Resort Golf Club in San Antonio. The par is set at 72 and it is 6,751 yards long.
THE FIELD
In the Southland, only seven of the 10 full members sponsor men's golf: Lamar, New Orleans, UIW, Southeastern, HCU, Nicholls, and A&M-Commerce. Augusta (Ga.), Bryant (R.I.), and Francis Merion (S.C.) are affiliate members. Southeastern is the defending champion.
THE SCHEDULE
The three-day 54-hole tournaments begins on Tuesday morning with traditional staggered tee times based on GolfStat rankings. A&M-Commerce is in the second group with HCU.
Corey Maher (Frisco) tees off first at 8:50 a.m.,
Chance Mulligan (Dallas – Bishop Dunne) follows at 9 a.m.,
Simon Haas (Lorch, Germany) at 9:10 a.m.,
Nathan McCulloch (Edinburgh, Scotland) at 9:20 a.m., and
Kittiphong Phaithuncharoensuk (Phuket, Thailand) closes out the Lion group at 9:30 a.m.
A LOOK AT THE LIONS
A&M-Commerce, under the direction of first year coach
Brian Dolehide, competed in four tournaments this spring. The Lions placed seventh out of 15 teams at the Colin Montgomorie Invitational.
McCulloch tied for 10
th at the Colin Montgomorie Invitational and earned a Southland Men's Golfer of the Month award in the fall. Phaithuncharoensuk finished in the top 25 in three of the four tournaments.
