KERRVILLE – Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golfer Sam Benson enters the final round of The Big Texan in a tie for 16^th place after the first two rounds played at Riverhill Country Club on Monday.
 
Benson (Gilmer – New Diana) shot matching scores of 73 in both rounds to total a score of 146. He is in a six-way tie for 16^th place. Tarleton's Alvaro Huidobro is the 36-hole leader with a score of 137 on the 89-golfer leaderboard.
 
On the team leaderboard, UTRGV, who is the host of the tournament, has a three-stroke lead over Tarleton. The Lions are 15^th with a team score of 628 (305-323), eight back of Western Illinois.
 
Chance Mulligan (Dallas – Bishop Dunne) is tied for 65^th with a score of 155 (76-79), Balint Zavaczki (Nyíregyháza, Hungary) posted a two-round score of 159 (74-85) to tie for 76^th place, while Dayne Bachmeyer (Pflugerville – Weiss) is 87^th with a score of 168 (82-86) and Ivan Yabut (Omaha, Neb.) is 88^th with a score of 174 (85-89). Blake Taylor (Mansfield) is competing as an individual this week and has a score of 161 (82-79) to tie for 80^th place.
