SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Marie Baertz carded in a top 10 finish for the Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf team at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Tuesday at the Twin Oaks Country Club.
 
Baertz (Luxembourg) shot a 72 in the final to finish with a score of 221 (77-72-72) to begin her sophomore campaign. Syrah Javed (Norman, Okla.) tied for 23^rd in her first tournament as a freshman with a score of 229 (78-75-76). The Lions finished fifth with a team score of 905 (304-299-302), while Omaha won the team title by nine strokes over Oral Roberts and North Dakota State with a team score of 872.
 
To round out the Lions, Annika Schwinn (Rehlingen, Germany) totaled 230 strokes (70-79-81) to finish in a tie for 26^th, while Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) took 31^st with a score of 231 (82-76-74) and Jordan Dusckas (Flower Mound of Marcus) finished in a tie for 42^nd place with a score of 236 (79-77-80). Katie Ruge from Omaha won the individual medal by six strokes, totaling a score of 206.
