STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 15 ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls dropped the Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team on Sunday afternoon at Neal Patterson Stadium in the Lions' final non-conference match of the season.
Coming into this week, the Pokes are ranked No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and one of just two teams in NCAA Division I to not allow a goal this season.
Lauren Wilson scored the first goal of the match in the 14
th minute, an unassisted goal, and Logan Heausler made it 2-0 for the Cowgirls in the 23
rd minute, off an assist from Alex Morris.
In the 36
th minute, Mollie Breiner converted a penalty kick and Bella Pierotti gave OSU a 4-0 lead going into halftime, scoring via an assist from Sami Allen, in the 44
th minute.
Adelhia Ghonda began the scoring the second half in the 48
th minute with both Alex Morris and Logan Heausler recording assists. Aubrey Wagner added another goal for the Pokes in the 67
th minute with assists from Mabry Williams and Bella Pierotti.
The Cowgirls outshot the Lions, 32-4, and 14-4, for shots on goal.
Gillian McKenzie (Mesquite Horn) recorded eight saves, while
Mya Mitchell (Dallas – Mesquite Horn) had two of the team's four shots on goal.
Oklahoma State is yet to allow a goal this season and is now 8-0-1 on the season. The Lions end non-conference play with a record of 1-6-2, having been winless in their last eight.
