HUNTSVILLE – For the second straight week, Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf's
Marie Baertz finished in top five, taking third at the Bearkat Invitational on Tuesday at the Raven's Nest Golf Club, while the Lions finished third.
Baertz (Luxembourg) shot a 71 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 218, climbing three spots. Sam Houston's Grace Jin won the individual medal by four strokes with a score of 203, while SHSU's Amelia Guo was the runner up, carding a score of 207.
As a team, the Lions carded a total of 295 on Tuesday to place third with a score of 899. The Bearkats won their home tournament by 37 strokes with a score of 850, while Tarleton was second with a score of 887.
"The girls played great this week down at Sam Houston. We made progress each round and we are extremely proud of that!" said Director of Golf
Brian Dolehide.
Jordan Dusckas (Flower Mound Marcus) finished tied for 14
th with a score of 227 (76-75-76),
Syrah Javed (Norman, Okla.) carded a score of 229 (78-75-76) to tie for 19
th,
Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) tied for 24
th with a score of 233 (81-80-72), while
Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany) took 29
th with a score of 236 (75-78-83).
