TULSA, Okla. – Making things interesting late on Thursday night at Hurricane Soccer Stadium, the Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team fell 2-1 to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane as the equalizing-attempt went just over the post with the clock expiring.
The Golden Hurricane did not waste time in taking the lead, scoring in the second minute. Hannah Chance drilled in a kick off a pass from Leah Diaz. Tulsa added its second goal of the match in the second half as Diaz scored from outside-the-box off an assist from Blaine Schutte.
The Lions scored their only goal of the match in the 71
st minute as
Hannah Bell (Duncanville) broke away and had a clear look at goal for her fourth goal of the season,
Ava Watts (Tulsa, Okla.) and
Mya Mitchell (Dallas – Mesquite Horn) had the assists on the goal from Bell.

Despite being outshot 15-7 in the match and putting just three shots on goal all match, the Lions had a just to tie the match in the final seconds, but Mitchell's shot was just over the goal.
MITCHELL LAST-MINUTE SHOT HIGHLIGHT
Gillian McKenzie (Mesquite Horn) faced five shots on goal for the Lions, saving three, while allowing two goals. Two of the Lions' three shots on goal were team saves.
Kristen Sueltz (The Colony) tallied two of the team's seven shots for the Lions, while Schutte recorded four shots for Tulsa.
The Lions fall to 1-4-1 on the season, while the Golden Hurricane are now 4-1-2. The all-time series between the two teams is now tied at 1-1.
