COMMERCE – The full 2025-26 schedule for the East Texas A&M University men's basketball team has been released on Monday morning as the Lions begin their season at home on November 3.
The Lions host 14 games at the Hunt Regional Healthcare in the Field House during the regular season. East Texas A&M is now a full Division I member and eligible to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to the start of the season, East Texas A&M plays an exhibition game at Tarleton on October 25 at 6 p.m. and then hosts UT Dallas for an exhibition contest at 6:30 p.m. on October 29. Admission is free for all fans for the game against UT Dallas.
For the first time in the Division I era, the Lions begin the season at home as they host Arlington Baptist at 10:30 a.m. on November 3 as part of Education Day, presented by Signature Solar.
The Lions then play the next three on the road, facing New Mexico on November 5, returning to Hawaii on November 9, and at Rice on November 14. East Texas A&M picked up a 53-51 win at Hawaii in 2022.
After hosting Dallas Christian on November 19, the Lions head to New Jersey to play two games as part of the Fairleigh Dickinson Basketball Classic. The Lions play the hosts, FDU, on November 25 and then take on Army the next day.
For the second straight year, the Lions face off against UCONN, with this year's game also coming at Gampel Pavillion. The Lions and the Huskies face off on December 5. A quick turnaround following the game at UCONN has the Lions hosting Central Arkansas on December 7 at 5 p.m.
The final non-conference game of the season comes at Texas A&M on December 21. The Lions are playing in College Station for the third year in a row.
The 22-game Southland Conference schedule remains the same as announced earlier this fall, beginning with a matchup at two-time defending SLC champions McNeese on December 12.
During conference play, home games on Saturday will tip off at 5 p.m., while Monday night games will tip off at 6:30 p.m., except for February 16 against Southeastern, which will tip off at 1 p.m. The time for the December 31 game against Lamar will be announced at a later date.
