SUGAR LAND – Marie Baertz finished in a tie for 15^th place to highlight the East Texas A&M University women's golf team's performance at the Riverbend Intercollegiate this week at the Riverbend Country Club.
 
The Lions took 11^th in the 15-team tournament, which was won by Houston with a score of 858. Abilene Christian finished second with a team score of 891. East Texas A&M posted a score of 941.
 
Baertz (Luxembourg) posted a score of 225 (73-77-75) to tie for 15^th, Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany) tied for 48^th with a score of 237 (84-74-79), Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) shot a 238 (77-79-82) to place in a tie for 51^st, while Syrah Javed (Norman, Okla.) tied for 67^th with a score of 245 (85-77-83), and Jordan Dusckas (Flower Mound Marcus) took 71^st with a score of 247 (85-83-79).
 
Houston's Moa Svedenskiold won the individual medal by five strokes with a score of 206 over Abilene Christian's Ryann Honea.

The Lions have a quick turnaround, playing at the Bama Beach Bash next Sunday-Tuesday in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
