MONROE, La. – Marie Baertz finished in a tie for sixth place on Tuesday at the ULM Invitational as three East Texas A&M University women's golfers finished in the top 25 at the Bayou Desiard Golf Club.
Baertz (Luxembourg) shot a 70 on Tuesday in the final round to climb seven spots on the player leaderboard and placed in a four-way tie for sixth place with a total score of 215 (74-71-70). ULM's Daniela Campillo won the individual medal with a score of 207, three strokes ahead of Southern Miss' Taylor Trible.
"This week we showed improvement in our short game which I'm very proud of," said director of golf
Brian Dolehide. "Great seeing three of our girls inside the top 25 and
Marie Baertz finishing under par for the tournament!"

Southern Miss edged out ULM by four strokes for the team title with a score of 859. The Lions rose two spots in the final round for seventh place with a score of 896 (305-292-299), four ahead of both Little Rock and Troy.
Jordan Dusckas (Flower Mound Marcus) tied for 20
th place with a score of 221 (77-70-74), while
Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) posted a score of 222 (74-73-75).
Marie Naeher (Neueunbuerg, Germany) tied for 50
th with a score of 238 (80-78-80) and
Fahsai Inmee (Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand) tied for 51
st with a score of 241 (80-79-82).
UP NEXT
The Lions compete in the Veritex Bank Collegiate, hosted by SMU next week at Trinity Forest Golf Club, which is also the Lions' final tournament of the regular season.
