KERRVILLE – Matt Walters is tied for 10
th place for the East Texas A&M University men's golf team at the Southland Conference Championships following the second day at the Comanche Trace Golf Course.
Walters (Ballito, South Africa) carded a round of 71 on Tuesday to total a score of 144 after two rounds. Augusta's Bo Blanchard leads the field by three strokes with a score of 133.
On the team leaderboard, Augusta has a four-stroke advantage over UIW with a two-round total of 565. The Lions are now in seventh place, posting a score of 595 after two rounds, which is three strokes back of HCU and two ahead of SFA.
Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) and
Janis Erll (Lich, Germany) are both tied for 21
st with a score of 149.
Nicke Kaajavirta (Kajaani, Finland) has totaled a score of 153 and is tied for 41
st, while
Sam Benson (Gilmer – New Diana) is in a tie for 48
th place with a score of 157.
The final round of the SLC Championships begins on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Benson is the first Lion to tee off at 10:45 a.m. followed by the rest of the team in nine-minute intervals. Live scoring can be found
