COMMERCE – Janis Erll and Matt Walters from the East Texas A&M University men's golf team have been named to the Academic All-District teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
 
Erll (Lich, Germany) and Walters (Ballito, South Africa) are both named to the Academic All-District teams following their first seasons in the blue and gold. The duo was also selected to first team Southland All-Academic last week.
 
A business administration major, Erll is a President's List and SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and recorded a top 15 finish at the SLC Championships this past spring.
 
Walters has also been named to the President's List and the SLC Commissioner's Roll recipient as a general studies major. He finished eighth at the SLC Championships.
 
Both Erll and Walters are selected to the Academic All-District teams for the At-Large category which includes eligible student-athletes outside the sports of men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, softball, baseball, and men's and women's track and field and cross country.
 
Walters advances to the national ballot for the Academic All-America team. The CSC Academic All-America teams will be released on July 9. The full list of CSC Academic All-District honorees can be found HERE.
