Lions in a tie for 12th place at Golf Week Fall Challenge

PAWLEY ISLANDS, S.C. – The 2025-26 season began on Sunday for the East Texas A&M University men's golf team at the Golf Week Fall Challenge as the Lions are tied for 12th at the True Blue Golf Club.
 
The first tournament of the fall features 13 teams with one round each on Sunday-Tuesday this week. Georgia Southern holds a two-stroke lead over North Alabama on the team leaderboard, while Western Carolina's Tyler Jones shot a 66 on Sunday to lead on the player leaderboard by one stroke.
 
The Lions' Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) is tied for 35th with a score of 72 on Sunday, both Davis Seybert (Trinity Midland) and Matt Walters (Ballito, South Africa) shot 73 each and are tied by 46th place.
 
Janis Erll (Lich, Germany) shot a 74 and tied for 56th place and Dayne Bachmeyer (Pflugerville – Weiss) are tied for 68th place with a score of 77.
 
The second round begins with traditional tee times at 8:30 a.m. central on Monday for the Lions. Live scoring can be followed HERE.
