COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University soccer team and the UIW Cardinals played to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon at the Lion Soccer Field.
The two teams combined for 29 shots, including nine on goal, but
Gillian McKenzie (Mesquite Horn) saved four for the Lions in 90 minutes, while Hannah Alexander had five saves for the Cardinals.
Hannah Bell (Duncanville) had team-best five shots for the Lions. On the other end, Tyler Coker and Alex Knutson had three shots each for the Cardinals.
The Lions are now 3-5-3 overall and 0-0-3 in Southland Conference play. This is the first time since 2010 that the Lions had three ties in a row. UIW is 3-3-3 overall and 1-0-2 in SLC play.
