CORPUS CHRISTI – East Texas A&M University women's golfer Linnea Olsson is tied for the lead at the Islanders Collegiate Invitational following the first two rounds on Monday at the Corpus Christi Golf Club.
 
Olsson (Beddingestrand, Sweden) is one of just two players to shoot under par through two rounds. She shot a 72 in the morning and followed it with a round of 71 in the afternoon. She is tied for the lead with McLennan Community College's Aaliyah Hryniewiecka-Irwin. The duo's score of 143 is two strokes ahead of UTRGV's Pitchayapa Pungpho.
 
The Lions as a team are in fifth place, two strokes back of Blinn College, but hold a 23-stroke cushion over Lamar, who is in sixth. UTRGV has a seven-stroke lead over HCU atop the team standings.
 
Followed by Olsson, Marie Baertz (Luxembourg) is in 18^th place with a score of 154 (77-77), Tais Moreno (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) is tied for 25^th with a score of 157 (77-80). Marie Naeher (Neunbuerg, Germany) is tied for 32^nd with a score of 159 (75-84), and Gimena Errecart (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) is tied for 52^nd with a score of 170 (88-82).
