FRISCO – For the second week in a row, the East Texas A&M University volleyball team collected two Southland Player of the Week awards as
Ariana Brown and
Jade Washington have been highlighted by the conference once again on Monday.
The Lions went 3-0 last week in the tournament hosted by St. John's, which was the first undefeated run at a tournament since 2013 and the Lions are off to a 5-1 start for the first time since 2013 as well. Brown was named the Lou Carnesecca Invitational MVP and to the all-tournament team, having totaled 37 kills, seven service aces and 42 digs across three matches.
Washington (Waco – Midway) collects her fourth career weekly honor and was also named to the all-tournament team in New York last week. She accumulated a total of eight set assists, 59 digs, one kill, and 3 service aces over the week.
Lion setter
Haley Mullaney (Decatur) was also named a honorable mention setter of the week, she was named to the all-tournament team as well.
UP NEXT
The Lions are in San Antonio this week for the Roadrunner Classic, facing IU Indianapolis at 10:30 a.m. and the hosts, UTSA, on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
