Top Moment No. 10: Neal Becomes All-Time Assists Leader

The 2013-14 A&M-Commerce athletic season was filled with a handful of incredible moments, achievements and career milestones. Throughout the summer Lion Athletics will take a look back at the top 15 moments of the year, voted on by athletic administrators and local media members.
Not only did the Lion volleyball team post a 20-win campaign for the second straight season, it saw a record more than a decade all go to the wayside as senior setter Jordan Neal became the program's all-time assists leader.

The senior led the Lone Star Conference in assists with 11.77 per set, and with 1,459 total. She was named to the all-LSC team for the fourth straight season, earning LSC Setter of the Year honors at season's end.

She became the Lions' all-time assist leader on Oct. 29 in a 3-2 loss at Angelo State when she dished out 45 assists on the night. Neal moved by Melissa Staiger on the Lions' all-time list with her 27th assist of the night in the third set, supplanting Staiger who had held the record since the 2000 season.

In all, Neal became the first Lion to go over 4,000 assists for her career and finished with 4,677 for her four-year career. She was in the top-three among active players in the nation in career assists throughout the 2013 season, eventually earning both all-region and honorable mention all-America honors.
