Lion Athletics is looking to make the tailgate area bigger and better than it ever has been and we want your help.

We need a name for the "beer garden" spot at our tailgate. Fans have the chance to win a prize pack from Lion Athletics if their suggested name is chosen.  As with the 2013 season a specific spot within the tailgate area will provide samples of different alcoholic products for all fans 21 years or older.  Fans are encouraged to direct message us on the Lion Athletics Facebook page with suggestions, or email them in to Joshua.Jorgensen@tamuc.edu. The top five appropriate names will be announced and then voted upon by Lion fans via Facebook.  If a name is suggested multiple times, each person that provided the suggestion will be eligible for the prize pack.

Additionally, during the September 4th East Texas Baptist game, fans are encouraged to come and enjoy meal service provided by Sodexho. All students will be provided the meal free of charge with meal plan owners being provided all-you-can eat status.  Alumni and fans alike will be able to enjoy the same meal for $10 per person. This area will be set up from 5 pm until game time. Due to the Thursday night game, this will be a great way for fans to be able to come out and enjoy some great tailgating without having to worry about dinner plans.

Tailgating on game days starts approximately five hours before kickoff. Bounce houses will be available for the kids. The student tailgate area will have a live band playing each week. Alcohol is permitted in the tailgate areas, but all beverages must be in plastic cups. To reserve your free tailgate spot, call the Lions Ticket office at 903-886-5558. All student groups need to contact Student Services to get signed up for a tailgate spot in the Student Tailgate area.
