Soccer to host Dallas Baptist on Tuesday

COMMERCE, Texas – The A&M-Commerce soccer team will take a break from Lone Star Conference action on Tuesday night, when they are set to host Dallas Baptist at 7 pm at Lion Soccer Field. 
 
The Series
- The Lions claim a 14-3-0 all-time record against Dallas Baptist, including a series-best eight-game winning streak.
- A&M-Commerce last lost to the Patriots in 2012.
- Last year's meeting saw the Lions win 2-1 in the second overtime.
- DBU has never won at Lion Soccer Field.
 
About the Lions (5-2-2)
- The Lions are coming off consecutive LSC ties for the first time in program history after a scoreless game against Midwestern State and a 2-2 match against Texas Woman's.
- A&M-Commerce is 4-0-1 this season at their home facility, outscoring opponents 17-1 in that time.
- The Blue and Gold are tied for the conference lead in shutouts (5) and also have the fewest fouls (62), most corners (54), and fewest offside penalties (2).
- The Lions have only allowed five goals on the season, also the lowest mark in the LSC.
- Vicky Back is the LSC leader in goals, pointers, and game winners after her game-tying goal in the second period against Texas Woman's last Thursday. The Lions are 4-0-1 in games this year when Back finds the net.
- Savannah Grasser was the team leader in shots a season ago, and she was credited with her fourth of the year on Thursday, providing the Lions with a strong front attack that mimics the rest of the league.

About the Patriots (6-3-1)
- Dallas Baptist is coming off an overtime victory against Oklahoma Christian, as Emilie MacDonald chipped a shot past the keeper from 15 yards out in the 97th minute.
- The Patriots have won four straight, outscoring opponents 13-2 and delivering three shutouts in that span.
- DBU is 1-2-0 against Lone Star Conference teams this season, falling to Angelo State and Texas Woman's before defeating West Texas A&M on September 26.
- Dallas Baptist is 2-2-1 away from Patriot Soccer Field this year but has still managed to outscore opponents 9-7 on the road.
- The Patriots have completed six shutouts through ten games this season, and the only teams that have scored on them are all from the South Central Region.
- Head coach Michelle Lenard is in her eighth season at the helm of Patriots soccer and picked up her 100th career victory with a 2-0 victory against St. Edward's earlier this season.
