San Angelo, Texas – The A&M-Commerce softball team hits the road for its final Lone Star Conference four-game set of the inaugural 2015 season at No. 14 Angelo State with Friday's doubleheader starting at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday's twinbill starting at 1 p.m.
A&M-Commerce (23-19, 12-10) enters the weekend after taking three of four games against Midwestern State in its final LSC home series at John Cain Family Softball Field. The Lions spilt the first two games, before sweeping Sunday's doubleheader.
Angelo State (28-11-11, 10-9-1) come into the series after spilt a doubleheader with Texas A&M-International. The Rams, ranked 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll, have won three out of their last four games.
The Lions carry a .303 team batting average, eighth in the LSC, while the Rams bring the league's fourth best batting average at .332 into the meeting. In the circle, ASU sports the league's lowest ERA at 2.46 ERA, while A&M-Commerce sits fourth in the league with a 4.15 ERA.
Angelo State is third in the first NCAA South Central Regional, while Lions, despite carrying a better record than three teams on the list, where left off the first rankings.
