Commerce, Texas – A&M-Commerce will host Southern Arkansas to start a string of six nonconference games to closeout the inaugural 2015 season after adding four games against Great American Conference opponent Harding on Thursday in Searcy, Ark. and Saturday at the John Cain Family Softball Field for the regular season finale.
Southern Arkansas, A&M-Commerce Tuesday's opponent, comes into the meeting at 24-19 overall and 14-15 in GAC play. The Muleriders hit .311 as a team, but allow opponents to hits at .325 clip. The Southern Arkansas pitching staff carries a 4.47 team ERA.
Southern Arkansas has won seven of its last nine games after taking three of four games against GAC opponent Southern Nazarene including a doubleheader sweep Monday.
A&M-Commerce enters after suffering a four-game setback at then ranked No. 14 Angelo State. The Lions enter Tuesday at 23-23 overall and carry a 12-14 Lone Star Conference record.
After Monday's Lone Star Conference results, the Lions sit and sixth place in the league standings with a .462 LSC winning percentage. Seventh place Midwestern State, after splitting a four-game series with Cameron, moved to 9-15 in the LSC for a .375 conference winning percentage. If the Mustangs sweep their final LSC opponent, eighth place Texas A&M-Kingsville at 15-25-1 and 6-17-1 down in Kingsville then MSU will jump A&M-Commerce for the sixth place spot by the narrowest margin -- .002. Midwestern would carry a .464 winning percentage, while A&M-Commerce would be left out with a .462 percentage.

Richie Bruister announced the addition of four games – two games at Harding and two games vs. Harding in Commerce – to closeout the 2015 inaugural season. First pitch of Thursday's doubleheader at Harding is set for 2:30 p.m. with the Bison playing a return doubleheader in Commerce at the John Cain Family Softball Field at 1 p.m. Saturday.
