Ali Leasor and the Lions overcame adversity today to steal fifth place away from Cameron in the final round of the LSC Championship.
Leasor finished 12th overall with a 154. She had 22 pars and 3 birdies.
Emily Taylor carded a 156 to tie for 15th. Taylor had 5 birdies.
Emily White finished one stroke behind Taylor, scoring a 157 to finish tied for 20th,
Celeste Emeott scored a 160 with 23 pars to snag 25th, and in 27th,
Zoey Daneshfar scored a 163.
Midwestern State won the LSC Championship with a 598, West Texas A&M finished second with a 614, and Angelo State and Tarleton State tied for third with scores of 616. The Lions (622) beat Cameron (623) by just one point, pilfering fifth place from the Aggies. A&M-Kingsville carded 649 to finish seventh.
Sierra Campbell (Midwestern State) won the individual championship with a 147, beating out reigning champ Isabell Jimenez Perea (Tarleton State) by three points. Jimenez Perea, Beatriz Prados (Tarleton State) and Glory Jangthongsiri (West Texas A&M) tied for second with 150 each. Sarah Moore (Midwestern State) rounded out the Top 5 with a 151. Each of the Top 5 finishers were named to the All-Tournament team.
