The No. 6 seeded Lions are Prepared for the Lone Star Conference Championship

No. 6 seed A&M-Commerce plays No. 3 seed Tarleton State Friday at 11 a.m.

Canyon, Texas – The No. 6 seed Lions eagerly await the program's first appearance in the Lone Star Conference Championship with No. 3 seed Tarleton State Friday morning at 11 a.m.
 
The Lions and TexAnns split the season series in Stephenville this season with Tarleton State winning the first two games, 4-3 and 11-10, but A&M-Commerce responded with the doubleheader sweep winning the two games 15-13 and 11-6.
 
The Lions earned their way into the championship in the program's first season after 29-23 overall in the regular season and 12-14 in LSC action.
 
After earning a bye, No. 2 seed Texas Woman's (27-19-2, 19-7-2) will await the winner of the Lion-TexAnn (29-19, 16-10) matchup in round one of the single elimination tournament.  First pitch for the semifinal matchup will be Friday, May 1 at 4 p.m.
 
On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed WT (42-9, 22-6) earned the first round by and will await the winner of the No. 4 seed Cameron (38-15, 16-12) and No. 5 seed Angelo State (33-14-1, 15-12-1).
 
The championship game is slated for Saturday, May 2 at 2 pm.
 
The 2015 Lone Star Conference Tournament is a six team single-elimination event with the top two seeds receive a bye during the Quarterfinal round. The winner of the tournament will receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Softball Postseason.The NCAA Division II postseason field is set for release on Monday, May 4 at 9:00 a.m. via an online selection show on NCAA.com.
 
Tickets for the event will go on sale Wednesday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. Reserved chairback seats ($10) and general admission ($5) tickets can be purchased at the WTAMU Ticket. Friday's games will be split up into Session I (Quarterfinals) and Session II (Semifinals) with the stands being cleared between the sessions, fans wanting to attend all four games will purchase a Session I ticket and then be asked to leave the park then re-enter with the Session II ticket.
 
Students from participating institutions will be admitted free if they show their University ID at the ticket window located at the South entrance of Schaeffer Park, tickets will also be on sale the day of the contest.
