Turning PointAfter the Lions won the second set, the East Central Tigers put their foot on the gas pedal and would not take it off. The Tigers outscored the Lions 50-29 in the final two sets.
HOW IT HAPPENEDSet 1The Tigers came out and drew first blood beating the Lions by 11 points in the first set. Madyson Gill led the way for the Tigers with six kills.
Set 2The second set of the contest featured five lead changes, with the Tigers seemingly pulling away to take a 22-18 lead. The Lions clawed their way back, getting two big kills from
Layne Little to bring A&M-Commerce within a point.
Summer Alford tied the game at 24 apiece, and East Central's Alex Campbell made an error that put the Lions ahead 25-24. Alford finished off the set, and the Lions came away as 27-25 victors.
Set 3East Central dominated the entire third set, winning by a tally of 25-12. The final three points came off of errors committed by the Lions.
Set 4East Central continued their dominance and took a 19-9 lead over the Lions. The Lions had a hitting percentage of -.057 in the final set. East Central took the set 25-17 and won the match.
