Game Notes COMMERCE, Texas – Two days after knocking off previously unbeaten Angelo State in the Lone Star Conference opener, the Lion soccer team looks to continue their success on Sunday against Midwestern State.

About the Mustangs-The Mustangs enter play at 3-2-1 this year, including an 0-1-0 mark in LSC play.
- Midwestern State is coming off a 2-1 loss against Texas Woman's in their LSC opener on Friday night.
- TWU's Madison Purdy got on the board just 46 seconds into the game before MSU tied the game 24 minutes later on an own goal.
- It was Brittany Jones taking a rebounded shot in the 36th minute that ultimately handed MSU their first conference loss of 2015.
- The Mustangs were able to control possession a majority of the first period and into the second half, attacking the TWU defense and pushing for an equalizer late.
- Midwestern State hasn't found a win in their conference opener since 2010, when they beat then-member Abilene Christian 2-1 in Abilene.
