FORT SILL, Okla. – The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf finished only two strokes back of a program record for 36 holes, tying for second at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The Lions' 36-hole score of 592 (297-295) is just back of the score they recorded three weeks ago at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational to set a school record. A&M-Commerce tied with Newman for second in this event.
Celeste Emeott was the top finisher for the Lions, who had four place in the top 20. Emeott tied for 6th place at 2-over par 146, following an even par 72 on Tuesday.
Anya Anders placed ninth with a 4-over par 148 for the event, followed closely by
Makena Thomas in 13th at 5-over par 149.
Emily Taylor was 20th at 8-over par 152 and
Marisa Delgado was 41st at 159.
The Lions were the top finishing Lone Star Conference team of the five participating in the event, topping Midwestern State by 10 strokes, Cameron by 28 strokes, Angelo State by 31 strokes and UT Permian Basin by 56 strokes.]
This event marked the completion of the fall schedule for the Lions.
