AMARILLO – The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf team improved on its first round by 16 strokes to finish in seventh place at the Lady Buff Invitational after the final round of the event on Tuesday.
After 36 holes, the Lions had a final score of 330-314=644 to improve two spots from their standing after Monday's round.
Anya Anders was the top Lion, improving her Monday score by five strokes to tie for 23rd with an event total of 158 after shooting a 3-over par 75 in Tuesday's round.
Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week
Emily Taylor improved by six strokes over her Monday score with a 78 on Tuesday. She tied for 33rd with a two-round total of 162.
Emily White tied for 38th, one stroke behind Taylor at 163.
Celeste Emeott and
Makena Thomas tied for 50th in the event with two-round scores of 166.
The Lions will play in their penultimate event of the fall portion of the season next Monday and Tuesday at the Dallas Baptist University Classic, held at the Golf Club of Dallas.
