The Lions are coming off of a pair of wins over the Thanksgiving week. They defeated Lubbock Christian on Friday and Central Baptist on Saturday. With the wins, head coach Jaret von Rosenberg became the first coach in program history to start his tenure 5-0. He was quick to credit his players and those around him.

"I give a lot of credit to the coaching staff and the players themselves," he said. "We have been an unselfish group. We have been sponges individually in learning what we are trying to do and how we are trying to play. We have just found ways to win games. It hasn't always been pretty and we have played some good competition that have given us problems."

The Lions now enter their conference season. While he is pleased that the team is undefeated, von Rosenberg knows every team in the Lone Star Conference starts the conference season on an equal ground. Old wins don't matter now. It is what the team does from here on that matters most.

"We have found a way to win every game up to this point," he said. "But as we go into this weekend, it is 0-0. Everyone in the league is trying to try and start off on the right foot in conference. We know it is going to be a battle. We play two very good teams on the road. We have to be firing on all cylinders and be ready to go."

While it is his first season as head coach, von Rosenberg is very familiar with the LSC and the battles it will be. He knows his team needs to play at a high level, and not look past anyone on the schedule.

"We want to look at one game at a time," von Rosenberg said. "That is the biggest thing. We will prep the next couple days to get ready for Cameron. They are a really good team. They have played a national schedule and have been very competitive. They are coming out and expecting to win. That is what we have to be ready for. We have to be ready from the tip to play."

The Lions saw the Aggies play in the first week of the season, since Cameron was at the same opening tournament. von Rosenberg was impressed with their play and knows it will be a 40-minute grind to win in Lawton.

"Their versatility stood out," von Rosenberg said. "They are led by some senior leadership that has been through this league and been through these battles. They really compete at a high level. They try to guard you and they run good offense. They are a complete team. We really have to be ready to defend and hopefully make a few shots and give ourselves a chance to win in the last four minutes."
