Mariah Jameyson named LSC Hitter of the Week for a third time

RICHARDSON– Texas A&M University-Commerce catcher Mariah Jameyson has been named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week. The award was announced Monday by the conference office. It is the third time in four weeks that Jameyson has won the honor.

Jameyson– a senior from Seattle, Wash.– had another outstanding week for the Lions, hitting .650 in seven victories, six of which the Lions won by run-rule. She had a .692 on-base percentage and she slugged 1.450 with 13 hits, four homers and 18 RBIs. She had a home run and three RBIs in the No. 11 Lions' first win over Missouri Western State. She had an RBI single and an RBI double in the second game of that series. She then had two hits, including a three-run homer in the first game against St. Edward's. She then had four hits in the second game, all of which scored runs. She had two home runs in one inning, including a grand slam and drove in eight runs in that game. She had two hits in both the first and second game against UT Permian Basin and scored two more runs in the final game of the series.
 
Jameyson leads all of Division II in RBIs (54) and is second in total bases (86). She is in the top 10 in the nation in home runs (12), hits (43) and slugging percentage (1.049). She also leads the LSC in on-base percentage (.600) and batting average (.524). 

Jameyson and the No. 11 Lions are currently 25-3 on the season after winning all seven of their games last week. The Lions are 10-2 in conference play and sit in second place. A&M-Commerce returns to the diamond on Friday to begin a three-game home stand against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The first game will be played Friday at 7 p.m. with a doubleheader set to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be played at John Cain Family Field.
